Pole Pole Wooden Animal Racoon

Raccoons have such sharp memories that they can recall how to solve a problem three years later. This ability makes them one of the most cunning mammals in nature.

The T-Lab Japan brand and its Pole Pole wooden animals have been part of Japanese culture for over ten years. The name Pole Pole comes from the Swahili phrase pole pole, meaning «slowly, slowly,» which refers to the careful and unhurried work required to create these pieces.

Each Pole Pole animal is skillfully carved in Indonesia. The wood is carefully sanded to create a smooth surface, then hand-painted and finished in Japan.

Due to the handcrafted nature of the process, each Pole Pole animal is unique. The artisans must be highly skilled and meticulous to achieve almost identical results between each animal.

Pole Pole animals are made from albizia wood, which is similar to balsa. It is one of the fastest-growing tropical trees, making it a more sustainable option. The wood comes from the T-Lab factory in Indonesia. Neither the wood nor the paint is chemically treated.

Choose your favorite Pole Pole wooden animal and bring its charm into your home.
